I know State Senator Jeff Gordon. He knows that it is not just what one does that matters, but also how one does things that matters. It is about integrity and character. It is about working with people and to working for people. It is about common sense. It is about looking to do things in a bipartisan way while standing strong on important principles.
Jeff does these things and he does them well. I strongly support Jeff for re-election as State Senator for the 35th District. He is always on our side. His track record proves it.
One of the things that Jeff does is always fighting for all of our individual rights, parental rights, and medical freedoms. He knows the U.S. Constitution and our state’s constitution. He has copies of them in his Senate desk and often references them when debating and deciding upon issues important to us. Defending our freedoms and rights never goes out of fashion. Jeff took an oath of office as our State Senator. He stays true to this oath. I am proud of his work as our State Senator.
We must be mindful that we have inherent rights. The government does not grant these rights to us. In fact, the U.S. Constitution was written to protect our rights from being abridged by others and by the government. This is important. We must safeguard our rights from those who will trample on them. We must remember and be thankful for the men and women over many years who have defended our rights, sacrificing much including at times their lives. Jeff knows these things, as do we all. They serve as a guiding principle for what Jeff does and how he does it.
Jeff’s opponent has pledged to not work with moderates in the legislature. She promised this when she got the endorsement of the Working Families Party. Not working with moderates? Most legislators are moderates, so not working with them means not getting things done for us. Why would Jeff’s opponent promise such a thing? Makes no sense! But Jeff knows that it is common sense to work with people in a bipartisan way. This is what he does and the results show.
I support Jeff Gordon. Integrity and character matter. Defending all of our rights for all of us matters. We need to keep Jeff working as our State Senator. During early voting and on November 5th, join me in voting to re-elect Senator Jeff Gordon.
Sincerely,
David E. England, Jr.
