Rains Can't Quench Stafford Farm Day's Spirits

It's been a rainy summer, so was it any surprise when thunderstorms rolled in last Sunday and sent Stafford Farm Day attendees scrambling back to their cars? Even though the weather didn't cooperate and Farm Day 2023 had to end around 1:30 p.m., the Stafford Agricultural Commission (who put in the many hours needed to make this event happen), said they estimate there were 1,500-1,800 attendees in just four hours.

Only 10 out of the 175 vendors that signed up were no-shows due to the weather. While the farmers themselves are used to working in muddy fields, the attendees could not possibly be as used to dealing with the elements as Stafford's favorite farmers. Still, the team says it was a joyful celebration of small-town agriculture. Most importantly, they were able to get all the visitors and vendors out quickly and without incident.

Thanks to the Stafford Agricultural Commission for sharing some of their photos!
